Found on early Fender Rhodes Suitcase Amplifier Cabinets, this socket is where the preamplifier unit plugs into the power supply. Over time, the individual slots tend to wear down, resulting in a loose fitting plug and poor connectivity. This is often the cause of a non-functioning or intermittent preamp.
